'It was a thorough & comprehensive course embracing a
wide variety of coaching concepts & approaches. There was a lot of
practical work which was excellent for all students and allowed us all to enjoy
the benefits of the techniques as we made progress on our own issues &

Coaching at work (3 day in house programme)
Do you want to discover how to reduce your stress, improve your confidence, develop your staff’s competence, and upgrade your business results?
Research has indicated that managers, business owners and leaders
- are often so busy ‘putting out fires’ that they feel overwhelmed and therefore find it difficult to accomplish the strategic elements of their role.
- frequently end up doing things themselves (even sometimes taking over operational tasks from direct reports) because they feel it is just easier and quicker than showing someone else what needs to be done.
- sometimes had little confidence in the competence and ability of staff to successfully problem solve or make effective decisions.
Having responsibility for other people’s performance and results can be challenging. You have to delegate and supervise the work, but you also have to motivate people, build relationships, manage change, solve conflicts and deal with a host of other problems that the role of leading people presents. A coaching approach can help. Managers who adopt a coaching approach get the work done and develop their people at the same time. This improves the quality of work and the quality of the working life. Managers with coaching skills have productive, honest relationships with their people where problems can be aired and innovative ideas shared.
“Every significant study of effective managers concludes that those who get the most out of their teams successfully adopt a “coaching approach” to business”.
But what exactly does that mean and how specifically are you supposed to accomplish it?
Are you a business owner, manager or leader?
The intensive, practical, focussed coaching at work 3 day programme will equip you with the right tools to elegantly;
• delegate more efficiently ,
• improve productivity and quality,
• communicate your message more clearly,
• conduct more effective developmental conversations,
• get better results in a shorter space of time,
• create a stronger sense of purpose within your team,
• successfully motivate the performance of others,
• spend less time fire-fighting or doing jobs that should be done by your direct reports,
• free up your time and expertise so you can focus on the most important tasks,
• enjoy greater satisfaction in your personal and professional life.
The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) is the UK’s largest management body, combining industry-leading qualifications and specialist member services. ILM is founded on the principle that skilled managers and leaders hold the key to creating productive workforces that deliver organisational and economic success.
What the ILM says about coaching;
“Coaching in business has the potential to transform individuals' performance and organisations' success. Coaching aims to develop an individual’s performance by unlocking their capabilities through guided conversation and questioning. Coaching enables managers to find business solutions using their own resources and as such it can be a powerful tool for organisational development.”
What the ILM says about coaching training;
“Coaching training can be undertaken at a variety of levels, for instance to equip individuals to become coaches within their organisations or to ready someone for a career as a coach. Team leaders and first line managers can be made more effective in their jobs through coaching training, allowing them to get the best from their line reports through a coaching relationship”.
